About Epithalon (Epitalon)
Epithalon — also transliterated as Epitalon — is a synthetic tetrapeptide, reported in the literature with the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG). It originates from pineal-gland bioregulator research, most closely associated with work by Vladimir Khavinson and colleagues on short synthetic peptides modelled on naturally occurring pineal regulatory activity.
Much of the published literature on Epithalon comes from a relatively small group of researchers, published predominantly in Russian-language and specialist bioregulator-research journals, with limited independent replication in the wider international literature. This should be factored into how the evidence is weighed.
Epithalon is most frequently discussed in connection with telomerase and telomere biology, alongside broader pineal and circadian-related research questions. Reliable Research Labs supplies Epithalon (Epitalon) as a 10 mg vial of lyophilised powder, tested to ≥99.8% purity by HPLC analysis, strictly for qualified laboratory research. See our Compound Library entry for Epithalon for a wider overview.
